Play at home: simple block games for babies
You do not need fancy toys. A few soft blocks and ten minutes on the floor can do a lot for a growing brain.
Babies learn by doing the same thing again and again. Blocks are perfect for that, and they cost very little.
Three games to try
Build a small tower and let your baby knock it down
Hide a block under a cloth and lift it with a big “boo”
Pass blocks back and forth and name each colour
Keep it short and fun
Stop while it is still fun. Ten happy minutes beats half an hour of tears, and your baby will be keen to play again tomorrow.
